They work as a team. If one is in chaos, the other one won\u2019t be working at peak performance.<\/p>\n<p><em>Without a doubt, addressing your muscles needs and your diet goes a long way to fulfilling <a href=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/reduce-disease-risk\/active-people-reflect-healthy-lives\/\">the needs of your outer physical body<\/a>,<\/em> but, if you don\u2019t address your \u201cinner\u201d mind\u2019s needs at the same time, you are facing an uphill battle because you\u2019ll be fighting off your inner demons that are directly responsible for the \u201cstressors\u201d in your life.<!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Truth is, our inner mind needs really trump our outer needs because they are the driving factors. In other words, you cannot truly achieve any kind of lasting physical health if your mind is in chaos. Simple as that.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Just as there are physical tools to help you create the physical, healthy body of your dreams, there are also &#8220;mind&#8221; tools that can\u00a0help you transform your thoughts from lower \u201cfear\u201d laced frequencies that bring on stress to healthier \u201clove\u201d based frequencies that foster health.<\/p>\n<p>In our hectic modern daily schedules, we come up against stress on a daily basis. It may come in the form of a stressed relationship, bank account, trouble at work, issues with health\u2026there are any number of stressors that could be counted.<\/p>\n<p>Stress originates in the mind (and settles into your muscles and organs) and just like our other muscles and diet requires attention if we are to experience stellar health, <strong>so too does our mind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many people use some form of meditation to achieve a balanced peacefulness within and deal with stress. Meditation is an excellent tool to help you to remove yourself from your chaotic thoughts (the ones that are stressing you out) and get your mind focused on a single thing. <em>(A scattered mind is one that will work against your health because it scatters your energy into too many channels.)<\/em> Meditation gets your mind energy focused and that\u2019s where the power comes in.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Once you can corral the power of your mind to focus on one thing, you can take this \u201cpower\u201d into the real world and eliminate negative thoughts (nip them in the bud) in \u201creal-time\u201d when they come knocking at your mind-door and keep your mind focused and centered on the positive. <\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>According to yoga teacher and president of Power Living Enterprises, Dr. Terri Kennedy, focusing our energy\u2026our minds on one thing helps us to \u201cdecompress.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Yoga is one such <a href=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/diet\/dinner-table-tactics-to-help-you-succeed-with-your-diet\/\">empowering tool.<\/a> The biggest difference between using traditional sitting meditation techniques and using yoga for meditation is that yoga also involves more physical movement whereas meditation is done while sedentary.<\/p>\n<p>Yoga helps us slow down and tune into one thing, the breath. It not only <a href=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/reduce-disease-risk\/strength-training-is-the-first-key-to-longevity\/\">improves flexibility<\/a> but is an excellent tool to relieve stress and comes with a whole host of benefits that improve mindset.<\/p>\n<p>Not all yoga poses are created equal though. Certain yoga poses (asanas) release stress and tension in different ways (and in different areas of the body), addressing and helping certain parts of the body.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/childXpose.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-443\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-443\" src=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/childXpose-257x300.jpg\" alt=\"childXpose\" width=\"213\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/childXpose-257x300.jpg 257w, https:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/childXpose.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/><\/a>For example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To help quiet the mind and ease stress and anxiety, the calming resting posture of the <strong>\u201cChild\u2019s Balasana pose\u201d<\/strong> is an excellent choice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eagle-Pose.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-449\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-449\" src=\"http:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eagle-Pose-289x300.jpg\" alt=\"Eagle-Pose\" width=\"173\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eagle-Pose-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/reclaimyourlongevity.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eagle-Pose.jpg 607w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 173px) 100vw, 173px\" \/><\/a>So too is the <strong>\u201cEagle\u201d<\/strong> and empowering \u201cde-stressing\u201d pose. It does require focus in order t to remain balanced as you literally squeeze the tension out of your body. Your shoulders, legs and back all benefit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>\u201cCorpse\u201d or Savasana<\/strong> pose is another relaxation pose that is often used at the end of a yoga session.
